Tuesday we had an excellent training session from EBSCO which was very well attended by twenty Clark County Library staff. The morning session was YPL databases and the afternoon session was adult databases. We would like to thank Jill for allowing her staff to attend.
EBSCO and other database vendors have offered to go out to the branches and do training classes within the branch. If you are interested in having a specific database vendor come to your branch please contact Steve Baskin (baskins@lvccld.org) and he can work with you and the vendor to arrange a training session at your library. If the vendor is not available Virtual Library staff can also come out and do the training.
Having the trainer come to your branch will help you keep staff trained and allow for more staff members to attend sessions since they don’t have to travel to another library location.
