Free eAudio Books for Teens

Starting today, teens will have a chance to SYNC YA literature into their earphones with free audiobook downloads.

Audiobook Community, a social network for audiobook lovers led by Audiofile Magazine, has officially launched its SYNC campaign. From July 1 to Sept. 1, a weekly pairing of best-selling and classic audiobooks for young adult listeners will be posted in AudioBook Community’s SYNC: YA Listening group. The two free audiobooks will share a theme. Plus, the audiobooks available are likely to be on summer reading lists.

OverDrive is providing distribution services for all the SYNC audiobooks. The titles can be downloaded and transferred to devices with OverDrive Media Console for both PC and Mac. And because the titles are in the MP3 format, they are compatible with virtually any MP3 player.

You can help get the word out about SYNC with this helpful guide for libraries and schools.

Once SYNC listeners become avid audiobook fans, they’ll look to your library as a source for more great audiobooks. How are you promoting audiobooks to young adults at your library?
